Windows NT Devices

PCMCIA Swap Box

If you installed the SwapBox in your system after you have installed Windows NT, the PCMCIA.sys device driver will not be installed at boot time. It will be disabled. To configure:
  1. Double-click on My Computer
  2. Double-click the Control Panel icon

  3. Click on "Devices" to change the status as well as the startup of the PCMCIA.sys (for the ISA controller card) and Atdisk.sys (for ATA-Drives or ATA-Flash cards) drivers to Started and Boot, respectively..

  4. Click "Startup..." to continue.

  5. Click "OK" to continue.

  6. Reboot for the changes to take effect.

  7. After restarting NT click on the PCMCIA icon in the control panel for device details

  8. Click "Properties" or "Controller" to continue.

No PCMCIA device inserted

  1. Click the PCMCIA icon to continue.

  2. All NIC cards must be added manually. Click "Controller" to continue

3Com Card inserted before boot (but not installed)

  1. Click the PCMCIA icon to continue.

  2. Click "Properties" to continue.

  3. The device is detected but will need to be installed via the Network icon in the control panel.

  4. Click the "Network" icon to install 3COM device.

  5. Note: Network adapter is not yet installed. Click "Add" to continue

  6. Click "Have Disk..." to continue.

  7. Click "ok" to continue.

  8. Once the Adapter is selected, click "ok" to continue.

  9. Adapter resources are set. Click "ok" to continue.

  10. Adapter is now installed. Click "Close" to continue.

  11. After restarting NT click on the PCMCIA icon in the control panel for device details.
