SCSI Adapters

To obtain SCSI information, open the SCSI Adapter dialog box, by double-clicking on the SCSI Adapters icon in the Control Panel. The SCSI Adapter dialog box contains information for SCSI as well as some IDE devices. For example, the following screen shot shows two IDE devices: a Quantum Fireball hard drive and a Toshiba CDROM drive. Also, note that both devices are listed as using the ATAPI 1.2 driver. This is because Windows NT uses a single ATAPI device driver for both IDE hard drives and CDROM drives.

Clicking "Properties" displays the following.

The device driver may be updated using the "Driver" tab, and the "Resources" tab displays resources used by each SCSI or IDE controller and device.

This screen shot demonstrates an entry for an Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI controller.

Click the "Add" button to add a new device. Select the item to install from the displayed list, or use "Have Disk" to request that Windows NT search a driver disk or CDROM.
