Problem: Printer hangs while printing a job:
Solution: If a printer hangs while printing, open the Services applet in the Control Panel, find the Spooler service, then stop and restart the service. This usually allows the printer to resume printing. However, all hung print jobs are lost and must be resent to the printer.
Problem: Installation problems:
Solution: If a printer will not install (or reinstall) after deleting an existing printer, try deleting X:\Winnt\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86 directory (where X: is the drive letter of the boot partition containing the Winnt directory). Then, try installing the printer drivers again.
Problem: General print issues:
Solution: For general print problems, verify that the NT Workstation computer to which the printer is installed has plenty of storage space available for documents accumulating in the print queue. To locate the print queue directory open regedit (Start | Run, type regedit, click OK), and go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Pint\Printers\Default Spool Directory. It is important to note the drive on which the default spool directory exists. Check the free space on this drive.
